Owen
Name:
Owen Lett
Nick Names:
Hellowen, Otin, Carl, Dad
Where you were born:
T Dot
Previous experience:
I’m a graduate of the Applied Communication Program at Camosun College in Victoria, B.C. Work-wise, I cut my teeth in fine art reproduction at Island Art Publishers in Victoria: colour correction, layout, pre-press. My best friends were an Epson 9600 and 10000. After that I moved onto book layout, building hundreds of novels, cookbooks, and covers at Trafford Publishing. There I honed my skills in everything from pre-press to typography to colour theory to interoffice pranks.
Previous life experience:
I cannot be defeated at Goldeneye 007 for the N64.
If you could do any other job what would that be?
One day I’m going to open my own sushi restaurant. It’s going to be awesome. I already have a logo; what more do I need?
What’s playing on your stereo right now?
Miike Snow’s new album.
What do you usually like to do on the weekends?
As of now, catch up on chores and sleep (I’m a new father, and goodness gracious there’s a lot of things to do (also now I don’t swear as much))
Favourite thing about working at Invision is…..
Working with a group of people I genuinely enjoy being around. Also the breadth of work keeps things interesting; I can be working on a website for a global conglomerate one minute, and then working on a logo for a local education provider the next.
Ninja’s or pirates?
Ninjas every time.
Who do you think is bad to the bone?
Harry Beck
Anything else you would like to add?
Good night, and keep watching the skis! Uh, skies.
